Hello there!

My name is Michel Rodriguez. I am a Product/Brand designer driven by a love of great, high-quality and thoughtful design. Currently working as a Freelancer, previously Product Designer at Shopmium.

I first began my career as a multidisciplinary/ well-rounded designer, capable of navigating through various projects, but my passion truly ignited when I discovered the joy of interacting with the users and designing around their needs. Over the years, I’ve had the pleasure to work on multiple projects and to improve multiple products as an employee at Shopmium but also as a freelancer in New Zealand. My only guideline is “Listen well, improve more; The user is the key.”

A designer is before all someone who find solutions to achieve a goal. In this spirit, I’m constantly seeking self-improvement and learning new skills. This mindset has allowed me to succeed and gain confidence as both a Product Designer and a Brand designer. My desire to always push myself further had led me to explore coding (HTML/CSS, ReactJS, JS, Swift, …). Acquiring this new skillset has broadened my perspective and enabled me to implement my ideas while also understanding the possibilities through code. This has made me a better designer and a more effective collaborator with the Tech team.

Moreover, my years of studies at HEC, a Grande École of business in Europe, have awarded me two entrepreneurship certificates, which s howcase my ability to think strategically, lead projects from concept to launch, collaborate with cross-functional teams and always take in consideration the business side of everything.
